Gpc

It is not every day you get to say that a small team of only four individuals worked as a team and set 4 world records, 5 European records, had 5 first places and 3 2nd places in as many events in the small space of only five days, but Team Ireland did just that earlier this month at the GPC European Championships in Trutnov, Czech Republic.

As part of this team, I’d like to personally thank all who supported us, both back here at home and also there on the day, friends and family from Ireland and abroad!  And a special thanks to Liam and Ed who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep this website and our socials running so you our lifters can be up to date on all things powerlifting!

I am also proud to be part of the GPC family and was able to be part of the GPC AGM where new rules were voted on for our federation.  The GPC have made history by becoming the first federation to offer a category specifically for trans athletes.  This decision was made in the interest of balancing inclusion and equity for all.

Our next competition is the Four Nations in Dublin on July 19th.  There has been great response to this international event, and entries close on July 4th or when spaces fill.  All info to enter can be found here on our website.

We also have the World Cup in November in the UK to look forward to, as well as our annual Winter Open in December.

Have a blessed day, stay strong and see you all in July!
