Why or How did you get into lifting?
Two powerlifters in my gym encouraged me…plus I’ve always enjoyed lifting ..I was 40 when I first started powerlifting
Where do you currently train?
I train in my garage gym in Wicklow
What music do you listen to while you train?
Mix of music
Who do you currently train with/coached by?
I train alone… have trained with strongmen and powerlifters in the past and had a few coaches over the year
What is your favourite pre or post training/recovery tip?
Usually, I train morning…so pre workout… porridge with natural honey…lots of water…and a banana through my workout…post training…whey protein… recovery tips…eat quality food…whey protein and keep hydrated.
What is your favourite lift and why?
Squat my favourite…. just a great feeling having heavy weight on your back and you sit down and stand up with it
What is your favourite memory from a competition?
Have a few….2014 I broke the master 1 drug free world squat record no sleeves just a belt….2015 winning ipo world championship Master 2 and breaking squat bench and deadlift world record…and 2019 GPC nationals I squatted 272.5kg in wrap’s.
What other sports or interests are you involved in? What are you doing when you’re not lifting?
I compete in strongman when I’m not powerlifting… when I’m not lifting, I’m usually working and eating 😁
