The GymSpy Team visited the Fitness Factory, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary
On 1st August 2024 We were greeted by a co-owner, Graeme Quirke, a gentleman, coach and PT.
Graeme studied Health and Fitness in University Limerick and competing internationally as part of the Irish Powerlifting Team for over 10 years he certainly has the knowledge and experience needed to understand how best to train “to be the best you can be”. His personal achievements which highlight his dedication and determination include 11 Irish Titles, 5 European Titles and 4 World Titles. Graeme has extensive experience in personal, group and corporate training.

Our Strongman, Ray Foley, seen here pressing 230kg for reps.
Bob Kiely to the right and Niall Reddan on the left keeping Ray from doing too many reps.
Ray was a big hit with the Fitness Factory members who were taking pictures with him while Niall Reddan, unknowingly to Ray, was selling at 10 Euro per pic. Niall was overheard telling the gym members that he was Rays manager.
Niall could be also overheard telling anyone that would listen that he was a Powerlifter and the vote for “GPC Best Powerlifter” was a rigged affair.
Sour grapes by Niall as check out Members Area to view for yourself what members filled out themselves and overwhelmingly voted for Liam Beville, no relation, as best Powerlifter.
Feel free to fill out the questionnaire and feature your own profile here. All welcome!
Paul McElhinney seen here taking the calibrated plates and stiff bar for a test run.
Paul has two competitions under his belt and has lifted 300kg in the GPC Push/Pull event held recently in Hercules Club.
Paul has now overtaken Niall Reddan as second most handsome Powerlifter (Guess who is first? Answers on a 10 Euro note and send to Liam Beville)
Liam Beville seen here doing something that resembles a squat, almost.
180kg of calibrated weight.
What can I say about this man that hasn’t already been said. Voted “Biggest Calves” for 40 years running now. Youngest OAP to ever exist.
Liam Beville, no relation to the author of this post who is also Liam Beville, is GPC’s most handsome Powerlifter, with or without a beard regardless of what Ed Mooney and Siobhan Hynes say.
