Charity Lift edit

There’s something special about the lifting community. We show up, we grind, we push each other, and when it matters most — we step up. This September, we’re not just chasing PRs and testing our limits on the platform; we’re putting all that strength to work for something that hits close to home.

On Sunday 27th September 2026, the GPC Ireland team is bringing you our Annual Charity Single Lifts, and this year we’re proud to be raising funds and awareness for the Irish Cancer Society. It’s taking place at the legendary Kings Gym Limerick, located at 3 St Joseph’s Street, Ballinacurra, Limerick, V94 N2XK — a proper iron mecca that’s seen plenty of heavy weights, and now it’s going to see a whole lot of heart too.

This isn’t just another meet. It’s a chance to pull on your singlet, chalk up your hands, and lift with purpose. Every rep, every kilo, every entry fee goes toward supporting the incredible work the Irish Cancer Society does right here across the country — from support services and research to providing care and assistance for people and families facing cancer. For so many of us, this is personal. We all know someone who’s been affected. This is our way of fighting back in the only language we really know — showing up, working hard, and refusing to quit.

Whether you’re lacing up to compete or coming down to shout on the lifters, you’re part of the team. If you want all the latest info — entry details, timelines, weight classes, or just to keep up to date ahead of the day — head over to www.powerliftingnews.ie where everything is being updated.

Let’s fill the gym, move some serious weight, and make a real difference. Big lifts and even bigger hearts — see you on the platform.
